News from Rebecca Tuck nee Watkins other descendants

This week I made contact with Karen Smith who is a descendant of William Tuck's first wife Rebecca Watkins (I am a descendant of William's second wife - Elizabeth Hughes). William and Rebecca had a daughter Harriet, who in turn had a son Victor Schubert. Victor died in World War 2 and is buried in Thailand. Victor is Karen's grandfather. Karen sent a number of photos as well as Rebecca's death certificate (click the link for a copy).

Thanks to Ros and her friend P for helping to find this link and thanks for Karen for sharing about her family.

See some of Karen's photos (I can definitely see some family resemblance) -

Note: As soon as I can I will upload copies of certificates that I already have.

In other news, Phillip, Chris and I went to the state archives at Runcorn. It was a very productive Saturday. Will post about our findings soon.

2nd Family Gathering of the Tuck Family

Yesterday was the second family gathering of descendants of James and Maud Tuck at Teralba Park at Everton Park, Brisbane. A number of families came together to catch up. Here is a short video of some of our photos. I'm a bit annoyed at myself because not everyone who came today is in the video. I'll be more diligent next year and be sure to capture everyone.

The first post: Welcome

My Mum - Deneice V. Watego (nee Tuck)
Every blog starts with a first post outlining what's to come. I'm not sure how this will work, but I'll try it as a place to start documenting my mum - Deniece Valerie Watego (nee Tuck) - 's family history adventure. There will information about our Tuck, Scott, and possibly O'Brien history. As well as some Watego and other branches she finds along the way.

I am and will be forever grateful of the effort and enthusism Mum has applied to documenting her (and my) family history. It is truly a wonderful gift.

Cheers, Leesa
